About

About Girls Matter

Girls Matter exists to help voters understand where candidates stand on issues impacting girls’ sports, privacy, and equal opportunity.

Our purpose

Girls Matter is a voter information project focused on providing a clear, accessible scorecard for candidates. The goal is to help voters quickly understand how candidates’ public positions and leadership actions may affect girls and the protections they have historically relied on.

What we do

We review publicly available information and evaluate candidates using a consistent framework. We then publish a score, rating, and supporting rationale to make it easier for voters to compare candidates side by side.

Why this matters

Fair competition, privacy, and equal opportunity have long been important protections for girls and women. Voters deserve clear information about where candidates stand on these issues and how their positions may shape policy and public institutions.

Our approach

Girls Matter is focused on clarity, consistency, and transparency. Scores are based on public evidence and a defined methodology. Each candidate is measured against the same criteria so voters can make informed comparisons.
